Caramel

Caramel candies were always in demand for Russian people as they were cheap and good for tea. In Soviet times on the most Russian people’s tables were only caramel sweets and cheap toffees, while more expensive and prestige souffle and chocolate candies were usually consumed on big holidays or other important family meetings. Although today most people can easily buy anything they want, including sweets that were “in deficit” in Soviet times, a lot of Russians are still prefer caramel candies as their everyday sweets for tea. In our selection we present you only legendary Soviet caramel candies brands, like “Barberry” or “Snakeweed”. They are produced by ROT FRONT factory and is very similar in taste and quality to their Soviet counterparts. While the caramel coating is basically the same, inside those candies have different fillings with different flavors. Our favorites are abovementioned “Snakeweed” caramel candies and “Duchess Pear”, although the tastes are different, and we are sure that you’ll be able to buy Russian caramel candies with a flavor you personally like.

Even though the Russian people are mostly consuming the caramel candies with tea, you can also eat them just as a sweet snack, without tea or coffee. You can also easily take them with you to the road, because they have the hard shell and will not be damaged even being in your pocket, unlike souffle or chocolate candies which are very delicate and won’t survive such an ordeal. And believe us, a couple of caramel candies is better than a chocolate bar, as they provide the same amount of perceived energy with much less calories intake. Buy Russian caramel candies if you want to have the “universal” sweets in your home.
